Artist of the Month, Tru Painting Dog. Open 8am to 6pm everyday if you are not able to see the show.
Old Town Coffee and Gallery’s April artist of the month is Tru the painting dog. Tru is an artist, philanthropist, champion trick dog, truffle dog and sometimes a dog just being a dog. As an artist, Tru’s preferred medium is working with acrylics. She enjoys the flow of the paint as it touches the canvas and the flow of treats into her mouth from her mom after each stroke of the paint brush. As a philanthropist, some of Tru’s donations have been to Fraudville (a fundraiser event for the boys and girls club), Bark For Life (canine event for the American Cancer Society) and Dancing with Sea Lions Gala Auction event. As a champion trick dog Tru has her favorite tricks she preforms throughout the day. Tru also enjoys walking on Bay Street and if a passer-by gives her attention, it is time to preform tricks. As a truffle dog, tru loves getting out among the trees and using her nose. When she is on the hunt for the underground treasure she enjoys an occasional SQUIRREL distraction. Tru has donated truffles to the Siuslaw high school’s culinary arts catering, that were used at the VIP reception at Florence Events Centers “Splash Off” of Dancing with Sea Lions. Tru also enjoys just being a dog with long hikes on the sand dunes or wooded trails, pestering her “sister” kitty (she is very gentle), playing fetch and sleeping.
