Come relax, enjoy the new member art that is up!
Elizabeth Hurley is the Featured Youth Artist at FRAA, exhibiting on the Gallery's Youth Wall. She is an active Senior at Siuslaw High School, enjoying art classes with Art teacher Kim Pickell, and playing sports. Most of her drawings and other art pieces are her experimenting and/or expressing her feelings, often using bright colors and "things that pop." She uses pencils, pens, watercolor, acrylic, oil paint, scratchboard, and multimedia. As Hurley says, "Drawing naturally makes me feel calm and happy with everything. Art takes me to a new world to explore...a peaceful place to invent."
Craig Shreeve is a photographer and exhibiting member artist at FRAA. He retired from telecommunications in California, and has been living in Florence for the past five years. He enjoys photographing the beautiful scenery that surrounds all of us living in the Florence community. In his words, "One doesn't have to go far to be able to see and capture the wonders that our beautiful coast has to offer. I am grateful in my ability to see every photo as a blank canvas waiting to be recreated in the mood that I feel will best bring out the uniqueness of the subject matter."
Both artists will be featured at a reception at FRAA on December 8th during the Second Saturday Art Walk from 3 – 5 p.m. The community is invited to come and meet these two talented artists, while enjoying holiday refreshments.
